Small Plates
(Ta-pas) small appetizer or snack originating in Spain, typically served with drinks at a bar
Tapas
In pre - 19th century Spain tapas were served by bodegas, offering meals and rooms for travelers. Since few inn keepers could write and few travelers read, inns offered their guests a sample of the dishes they served. Tapas have evolved through Spanish history by incorporating new ingredients and influences. Today Tapas have been popular not only in the restaurant scene but at home eating smaller meals!
